I am an Advanced Speech and Language Therapist providing private assessment and therapy for adults with communication and swallowing difficulties across Staffordshire and the West Midlands.
My work focuses on adults with acquired difficulties following stroke and other neurological conditions, including aphasia, motor speech disorders, voice changes and dysphagia.
I hold a First-Class BA (Hons) in Linguistics from Bangor University and an MSc in Language Pathology from Newcastle University. Since qualifying, I have worked across NHS and private settings, including acute, community and neurological rehabilitation services.
Stroke rehabilitation is a particular area of expertise within my practice. I have extensive experience supporting adults with speech, language, voice and swallowing difficulties following stroke, and I aim to provide therapy that is clear, practical, evidence-based and tailored to the individual.
I am committed to keeping up to date with developments in speech and language therapy and using evidence-based tools that can support recovery, independence and confidence. Where appropriate, I incorporate a range of technology and therapy resources to make rehabilitation more engaging, practical and personalised. This may include the use of the Facial Dynamics app to support facial rehabilitation, the Constant Therapy app for cognitive communication support, Tactus Therapy resources for aphasia, and other digital tools suited to your goals and needs. These approaches can help support practice between sessions, encourage independence, and make it easier to carry strategies over into everyday life.
I completed postgraduate training in Lee Silverman Voice Therapy (LSVT) in 2017, which supports work with voice and speech difficulties, including reduced vocal loudness. In 2025, I also completed certified training in the Ampcare Effective Swallowing Protocol (ESP), which supports rehabilitation for adults with eating, drinking and swallowing difficulties, dysarthria and facial weakness.
I helped to establish a local Speech and Language Therapy Clinical Stroke Network. This strengthened regional links, supported shared clinical learning, and contributed to improved rehabilitation pathways for people after stroke.
I am registered with the Health and Care Professions Council and am a member of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists and the Association of Speech and Language Therapists in Independent Practice.
